Avishek Kumar

Avi was born and raised in Sydney and began learning the tabla at the age of six. At just eight years old, he performed his first solo recital under the guidance of Guruji Balram Dass.

He later became a disciple of Ustad Aman Pal, a distinguished musician from the Punjab Gharana who is currently based in London. Through these teachings and blessings, Avi has developed a distinctive and versatile style of tabla playing, allowing him to perform across a wide range of Hindustani musical genres.

Over the years, Avi has accompanied numerous local and international artists. He has performed in both small and large ensembles at concerts, cultural programs, and private events across Australia.
